01 the life story of pochontas
Pocahontas's birth year is unknown, but some historians estimate that its birth took place around 1595, based on the writings of Captain John Smith. In A True Relation of Virginia, Smith describes the figure of Pocahontas, whom he met in 1608 as a 10-year-old.Pocahontas is the home of Pauhattan, which ruled Tasnakumaka, an alliance of some 30 Indian tribal groups in Tidewater, Virginia. Horror, whose name and original group were unknown, was one of twelve women taken by Pohatan; Each woman gave him one child, then sent back to the village and financially supported by the ruler (Pauhattan) until she found another husband.Pocahontas's childhood was probably different from that of most girls in Tasnakumaka. She learned how to do what she thought of as female work, which included agriculture and the search for food, firewood, and plant materials used in straw-roofed buildings. In addition, it is reasonable to assume that when she grew up, she helped other workers in the Pohatan household with preparations for large meals.Submitting meals like the one presented to John Smith after his capture is a normative commitment on the part of the Mamanatwick, the ruler of the chief regime in Tasnakumaka.
